Embarking on two large projects that required coordination of specialty work and accurate cost estimating, the Philadelphia Zoo tapped NorthStar as their Owners Representative. The complexity of Big Cat Falls required NorthStar’s coordination of plants from 30 different nurseries globally and the relocation of 20 foot trees and the lions to a new natural habitat. Demonstrating it accurate cost estimating, NorthStar validated cost for the McNeil Avian Center renovation within 5% of actual numbers. For both projects, NorthStar worked as an extension of the Zoo internal team coordinating the design/construction teams, City of Philadelphia, RACP Funding, and Parks and Recreation.
