A New Home for the Wildcats

Home 9 Project 9 A New Home for the Wildcats
In early 2017, Villanova University commenced the planning stages for the renovation of The Pavilion, home of the National Champion Basketball team, led by coach Jay Wright. During this planning stage, NorthStar was selected as the $60 million project’s owners representative to help facilitate a smooth project process. NorthStar was involved from the Preconstruction to Closeout phase and provided services including, but not limited to, consultant solicitation, Capital Project Budget preparation, design development oversight, municipal permitting, final facility acceptance, coordination of the Advent Graphics and exhibit package to tell the story and honor the history of basketball, and its prominence, at Villanova University.

The goal of this renovation was to improve the fan experience, revenue, operations, and to re-imagine the Pavilion as a basketball-centric facility with the added capability of serving as a revenue-generating event space.

The renovations to the Pavilion included new and improved seating, sports and theatrical lighting, state-of-the-art AV systems and elements, enhanced concession and food service spaces, graphics, restrooms, club spaces, lounges, improved locker facilities, recruiting spaces, new sports flooring, improved exterior entrance sequence and finishes, and infrastructure improvements – including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems – in support of the architectural changes.
